ACF are making this urgent appeal to help affected people of this devastating natural disaster in Sri Lanka

Target: £3,000

There has been severe rainfall, particularly in the Northern and Eastern provinces, for the past few days with devastating effects. The rainfall peaked today and is expected to get worse with predicted rainfall of more than 30cm in the North, along with a predicted cyclone, from tonight, continuing until 29 November 2024. Rainfall within the East is predicted to be somewhat less threatening with the rain receding by the end of 27 November 2024.

Several lakes have already breached, some villages are cut off by overflowing river water, roads have collapsed & rice cultivations damaged, to name but a few. Several thousands of families have been devastated by the effects, and most of them have been moved to common places such as Temples and schools.

The authorities along with several Non-Government Organisations (NGOs) are working hard to assist the affected.

We are receiving requests for assistance and are making this appeal to contribute our fair share of assistance to some of the affected families, with dry rations, essential hygiene items, etc.

Needs are immediate, and essential. Please donate generously, for us, to be able to assist as many affected families as possible.

Thank you in anticipation of your kind support
